Concordia is located on the Minnesota side of Fargo-Moorhead, a booming university town with more than 20,000 college students, a buzzing arts scene and a young, hip nightlife.
Looking for a fun night out? Go swing dancing at the Avalon Ballroom, grab a pizza at Sammy's or catch the midnight flick at the historic Fargo Theatre. We've got something for everyone.
Campus Culture
Through a steady roster of cultural events, the Concordia campus is always alive with vibrant art, world-class music and inspiring speakers.
Music is central to the Concordia experience. Nearly a third of Concordia students participate in one or more of the campus' choirs or instrumental ensembles. The award-winning Concordia Choir - one of the best a cappella choirs in the nation - gives dozens of campus performances, including the unforgettable annual Christmas Concert, now in its 80th year.
And of course, Concordia can rock with the best of them. Every spring, Concordia gears up for a huge, all-day festival called Cornstock. Last year's show featured alt-rock upstarts OK Go!
The Cyrus M. Running Gallery hosts ongoing student, faculty and regional art exhibits and the Concordia Theatre puts on four show-stopping musicals and plays each year at the Frances Frazier Comstock Theater.
And don't miss stimulating lecture series by members of Concordia's nationally recognized faculty that are free and open to the public.
Campus Entertainment Commission is a student-run organization that sponsors free shows by nationally touring comedians, magicians, movies and bands. They also run the popular "Acoustic Buzz" on Thursday nights at the Normandy and the surprisingly addictive Grocery Bingo. Check the calendar for upcoming events.
Go Cobbers!
Put on your finest maroon and yellow (face paint is optional) and cheer on one of Concordia's 20 men's and women's varsity athletic teams. From volleyball to hockey to basketball, our squads are multi-year NCAA Division III champions and we love to win.
