1. Student Perspectives from the Arctic
Main Stage, Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre

Concordia students Joshua Ryan ’10 and Elizabeth Ellens ’09 each spent a month on field research projects conducted inside the Arctic Circle through the University Center of Svalbard. They will report their first-hand observations of Norwegian science on the frontline of climate change. 

2. Campus Sustainability Report

Richard Strong from the Center for Sustainable Building Research at the University of Minnesota will present and discuss the “Roadmap” recently prepared as a resource guide for Concordia’s efforts toward sustainability in water, food, waste, buildings and transport. 3. What are Other Liberal Arts Colleges Doing?
Christiansen Recital Hall, Hvidsten Hall of Music

A panel of students from Concordia's peer institutions will discuss the sustainability initiatives on their respective campuses.

4. Climate Change, Faith and Spirituality
Centrum, Knutson Campus Center

Mark Peters, executive director of the Lutheran Coalition for Public Policy, will address climate change by exploring how individuals, worship communities and public churches can be appropriate stewards of creation. Learn about faith based resources for addressing climate change and how to respond from a theological and applied perspective.

5. Using Economics to Respond to Climate Change
Jones Conference Center A and B, Knutson Campus Center

Steven Taff from the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Minnesota will discuss the economics of climate change in our region.

6. Views from the Ground: International Student Perspectives on Climate Change
Jones Science 212

Concordia students from Europe, Asia and South America will discuss the impacts of climate change on their respective countries and regions. Participants include: Mads Schmidt Christiansen '09 (Denmark); Eirik Brunvatne '09 (Norway); Orgil Batsaikhan '09 (Mongolia); Alexander Liu Fan '10 (Paraguay); and panel moderator Sudhir Selvaraj '11 (India).
