Semester I on the Sunshine Coast runs from February to June while Semester II runs from July to November. Credo in Crete
Iraklion, Crete; Turkey, Italy, Greece
Open to a select group of students, Credo in Crete allows students and two faculty members to spend spring semester studying the ideas that shaped Western civilization while exploring important sites such as Aristotle’s lyceum in Athens and the sacred Greek sanctuary at Delphi. Your outstanding professors will team-lead discussions and reflection on Mediterranean and modern Greek culture with professors from the University of Crete in a informal, relaxed atmosphere.

Malta and the Mediterranean
Greece, Italy, Tunisia, Turkey, Morocco, Israel and Switzerland
Live in your own flat in Silema, Malta for four sunny months while studying at the university and volunteering at service sites through this semester-long program. You’ll travel with students and professors from Luther College while earning academic credit. The courses count for 300-level integration credits and are “Malta: History, Culture, Language and Life” and “Contemporary Ethical Issues of the Mediterranean.”
Scandinavia and the Baltic
Lillehammer and Hamar, Norway; Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Russia
This semester abroad will allow you to study Norwegian language, history and culture to fulfill Concordia’s integration and 300 level religion requirements just few hours away from Oslo, Norway. You will have the chance to travel for several weeks to several exciting countries of the North Atlantic and Baltic Seas. These include trips to Copenhagen, Helsinki and St. Petersburg. You will also be given the opportunity to travel on your own during weekends and breaks.
National University of Ireland
Galway, Ireland
Satisfy requirements while spending a semester on the Emerald Isle! Explore the beautiful coast, countryside and cities of Ireland as you study at National University of Ireland-Galway with cutting-edge scholars in the Arts, Humanities, and Sciences. As the capital of the West of Ireland, Galway is situated on a lovely bay, boasts one of the finest European art festivals, and remains the heart and soul of Celtic Ireland. Here history comes alive! Tanzanian Exchange Program
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
Each fall semester, Concordia students travel and live with the Lutheran College Consortium Tanzania, consisting of Concordia, Luther and St. Olaf colleges and Pacific Lutheran University. You’ll study at the University of Dar er Salaam in Tanzania. For five exciting months, you’ll explore a breathtaking country with warm and friendly citizens. Climb Mount Kilimanjaro, go on an African safari in Serengeti all while enhancing your education. You’ll even have the chance to learn the Swahili language to make your travel even more enjoyable.
Tokyo, Japan
Be a part of the exciting metropolitan area of Tokyo, Japan, while studying Japanese language and culture, business and economics, art and drama as well as human rights and development. While in Japan, you’ll study for one academic year at Kanda University of International Studies with easy access to train lines and an express way to popular destinations such at Tokyo Disneyland, Makuhari beach and a Japanese garden with teahouse. In order to apply, you must be of sophomore status or higher, have a GPA of 2.8 and at least one year of Japanese language study.
Social Justice, Peace and Development: Semester in India
Bangalore, India
Live and learn in a country that never ceases to amaze. While you study abroad for a semester in the religiously diverse country of India, you’ll explore important issues such as environmental issues, development, the role of women and effects of globalization. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to observe and participate in low-impact, sustainable development projects, and become directly involved in women’s and environmental issues. Through service learning in locations such as wildlife reserves, urban slums and indigenous villages you’ll learn from those who are actually affected by what you’re doing. This life-changing program offers you a chance to learn firsthand about current issues in India.
Rennes, France
The exciting world of business is waiting for you at the Management Institute of the University of Rennes in France where you’ll intern and take classes in French as well as business and economics. This international business program is open to business or economic majors with an emphasis in French, and is in the second semester of their junior or senior year, followed by a summer internship with a French company. You’ll live in dormitories or with French families and may earn four credits including one Cooperative Education credit.
Student Teaching Abroad

No matter what field you’d like to teach in, we have a program that will allow you to spend a semester teaching in one of over 13 countries including Australia, Costa Rica, Sweden, New Zealand, France, Nepal and the Netherlands. This unique experience will allow you to teach abroad at the same cost as doing a practicum in the United States. Requirements for the program include a written essay and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Each year, six to 12 students teach abroad in art, biology, Spanish, math, music, social studies, elementary education and more. Many Concordia graduates have even taken jobs teaching abroad as a result of their student teaching abroad experience.
BUSINESS PROGRAMS
International Business Program
Concordia offers international business majors the opportunity to intern or take business courses in several countries. These five career-enhancing programs are available to students with language fluency in German, French, Russian, Spanish or Norwegian. This is perfect for students hoping to take jobs with international companies after graduation because it is specifically designed for future professionals who will need to be knowledgeable about global business as well as possess the ability to speak in a world language.
Mexico City International Business Program
If you have proficient language skills in Spanish and an interest in international business, this is the perfect program for you. Located in the expanding metropolis of Mexico City, this program focuses on internships with international corporations and is available in either the fall or spring semester. You will also take two full business courses at the University of the Americas.
