Welcome! Since the establishment of Concordia College in 1891 by Norwegian Lutheran immigrants, the Nordic culture and lifestyle have become an integral part of the college community. Today the department consisting of interdisciplinary faculty offers exciting opportunities to study language, history, society and culture of the region and to apply this knowledge to a chosen professional path.
Concordia offers the following programs in Norwegian & Scandinavian Studies:
• Major in Scandinavian Studies
• Minor in Scandinavian Studies
• Minor in Norwegian
• Major in Scandinavian Studies with a Minor in International Business
• Major in International Business in Scandinavian Studies
• Major in Scandinavian Studies with a teaching license in Norwegian, grades K-12
• Major in World Languages Area of Specialization for Elementary Education Majors, grades K-8
