Kathi Tunheim '82 is president of Tunheim Leadership Group in Orono, Minn. After earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, she spent 16 years working for large corporations in Minneapolis. Her experience includes staffing, training and organization development leadership roles for American Express financial advisors, Republic Airways, Northwest Airlines and Carlson Travel Group.

After a life-changing spinal cord illness when she was 38, Tunheim started her own company, Tunheim Leadership Group Inc., and has enjoyed consulting for Fortune 100 companies, law firms, hospitals, Lutheran colleges, churches and many nonprofit organizations for the past 12 years. She recently completed her doctorate in human resource development at the University of Minnesota and is serving as an assistant professor of management in the economics and management department at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn. Her research interests include leadership development, college presidents, women on boards and reflection/service-learning.

She is married to Bob '82, a corporate attorney and partner at Lindquist and Vennum in Minneapolis. They have three children: Rob, 19; Amie, 16; and Kristie, 13.
