Gain real-world experience in more than 30 healthcare facilities that serve the Fargo-Moorhead area. All nursing students conduct 900 hours of clinical experience at such facilities, most of which are fewer than 10 minutes away from campus. You also may participate in internships here, across the country or overseas.
During the sophomore year, nursing students attend an orientation retreat at our Concordia Language Villages facilities in Bemidji, Minn. The retreat introduces the students to the program and provides opportunities for students to explore their vocation.
Concordia Language Villages Connections
Many nursing majors take advantage of the college’s connection with Concordia Language Villages which offers language immersion programs for children and adults. The camp environment provides numerous opportunities for clinicals, internships and research.
Our students do more than gain nursing experience. They’re also strong researchers who complete work on topics pertaining to community health, end-of-life issues and more. Our students have presented at regional and international conferences.
The National Student Nursing Association and the Concordia Health Professions Interest Club bring in speakers regularly to provide updates on career opportunities, current issues, graduate schools and other health topics. These groups also coordinate community blood drives, blood-pressure screenings, food drives and research projects.
You may also be eligible to join Sigma Theta Tau international, the international nursing honor society. Students are nominated for membership based on academic achievement.
