Approximately 80 incoming first-year students will be selected as Presidential Scholars, receiving an award totaling $68,000 over four years ($17,000/year). Approximately 160 additional incoming first-year students will be chosen as Faculty Scholars, receiving a four-year award of $64,000 ($16,000/year).
Recipients of the Presidential Distinction Scholarship for the 2013-14 academic year had an average core GPA of 4.04 and an average composite ACT of 30, also averaging to be in the top 5 percent of their graduating class.
Recipients of the Faculty Scholarship for the 2013-14 academic year had an average core GPA of 3.93 and an average composite ACT of 27, while averaging in the top 10 percent of their graduating class.
These numbers should be viewed as guidelines, not a strict set of criteria. Eligibility is determined by your application for admission, and invitations will be sent to eligible students beginning in October.
Fall Competition Date: Friday, Nov. 15, 2013
Spring Competition Dates: Friday, Jan. 17, or Friday, Feb. 7, 2014
Eligible students interested in competing for these scholarships are required to write an essay and attend a half-day event on campus, including a group discussion with other students and Concordia faculty.
*Students must be admitted to Concordia and have their scholarship essay submitted at least 10 days prior to the event in order to compete. Competitive academic scholarships will replace previous scholarship offers.
