Ken Foster came to Concordia College in 2007 after several years as an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He was drawn to Concordia by the college's emphasis on providing an outstanding liberal arts education for undergraduates and by the college's commitment to international and global education. Helping students to learn and grow is his highest priority in his role as professor.
Dr. Foster’s main area of expertise is Chinese politics. He is currently working on a book entitled Citizen Activism in China. The book will explore how citizens across China work to challenge injustice and create a better society. Dr. Foster brings an interdisciplinary perspective to the study of politics and global issues. He believes that communication and collaboration across the traditional academic disciplines is essential if we as individuals and as part of the global community are to thrive in the extraordinarily complex world in which we live.
Dr. Foster also serves a chair of the college’s President’s Sustainability Council.
