In the short time since the choir was founded, it has quickly become the standard for quality among men’s choirs of all ages all around the region, both in the college circuit and beyond. Männerchor performs during daily chapel services, at local churches and plays an integral part in the Concordia Christmas Concert.
Where does the name come from? Nestled in the Red River Valley, Fargo-Moorhead has a very German and Norwegian population. Concordia has embraced this rich history featuring German and Norwegian majors as well as utilizing the languages to provide the name for our men's choir – Männerchor. It simply means Men’s Chorus and that’s what it is – a freshmen men’s chorus.
