CONCORDIA ART EXHIBITION TO OPEN ACADEMIC YEAR
Concordia College will present the first art exhibition of the academic year, “From a Cup to Instagram: Art and Social Engagement in the 21st Century,” in the Cyrus M. Running Gallery. The exhibit opens Sunday, Aug. 25, and runs through Sunday, Sept. 22. A reception will be from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, and a lecture by Michael J. Strand will take place in the Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre at 4:30 p.m. during the reception.
Artist Michael J. Strand investigates how art can play a role in everyday life through social engagement and social networks. He is associate professor of visual art at North Dakota State University.
The exhibition is in conjunction with the Faith, Reason and World Affairs Symposium held Sept. 10-11.
The exhibition, reception and lecture are free and open to the public.
