CONCORDIA TO PRESENT HOMECOMING CONCERT
Concordia Music Organizations presents the Concordia College Homecoming Concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in Memorial Auditorium.
The concert will begin with The Concordia Band, under the direction Dr. Peter Haberman ‘97, performing works by Ticheli and Mackey. Next will be The Concordia Orchestra, conducted by Foster Beyers, performing one of the dance episodes from Copland’s “Rodeo” and one movement of Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”. The concert will conclude with The Concordia Choir, conducted by Dr. René Clausen, performing works by Paul J. Christiansen in observance of the 100th anniversary of his birth, as well as songs by Clausen, Jennings and Fissinger. Bringing the concert to a close will be F. Melius Christiansen’s arrangement of “Beautiful Savior.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
