IMPROV GROUP TO PERFORM AT CONCORDIA
The Concordia College Performing Arts Series will present the Improvised Shakespeare Company at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, in Frances Frazier Comstock Theatre.
The group will create a fully improvised play in Elizabethan style based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written). Nothing is planned in advance. All the dialogue is said for the first time, the characters are created on the spot, and not only does the audience wonder where the story is going… so does the improv company.
The Improvised Shakespeare Company, founded in 2005, has been performing its critically-acclaimed show to sold-out audiences at the world famous iO Theater in Chicago for more than seven years. The ISC also entertains audiences across the U.S. with its national touring company. It has been named Chicago's best improv group by both the Chicago Reader and the Chicago Examiner, has been honored by the Chicago Improv Foundation and has received a New York Nightlife Award for "Best Comedic Performance by a Group.”
Tickets are $25 for reserved; $20 for general admission; and $10 for students under 18. For tickets, visit ConcordiaTickets.com or call the Office of Cultural Events at (218) 299-4366.
