According to Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), vaccination rates across a college campus heavily influence campus protocols and planning.  In addition, Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) requires employers to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that are causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm.  To that end, OSHA indicates that employers should implement a COVID-19 prevention program.  This program includes conducting a hazard assessment; identifying a combination of measures that limit the spread of COVID-19 in the workplace; adopting measures to ensure that workers who are COVID-19 positive or have been exposed to COVID are separated and sent home from the workplace; and implementing protections from retaliation for workers who raise COVID-19 concerns.

The college is eagerly preparing for a Fall Semester of in-person work, classes, and events. To support a return to these types of activities, Concordia is strongly encouraging all employees and students to be vaccinated.  The college has a stated goal of at least an 85% vaccination rate by August 1 for students and employees.  Understanding employee vaccination status by July 1, 2021 is important for continued planning and managing into the upcoming fall semester.
