Dear Students,

The CDC recently made a significant change in its recommendations for quarantining people who have been exposed to a person with COVID-19. Throughout the course of the pandemic, we have been following CDC’s guidance and are changing our protocols to reflect the new recommendations.

Regardless of your vaccine status, if you are considered a close contact, you will now no longer have to quarantine. However, there are still precautions you need to take:

  • You must wear a quality and well-fitting mask for 10 days and monitor for symptoms.
  • You must get tested at least five full days after your last exposure. If you test negative, continue to mask and take precautions through day 10. If you test positive, isolate immediately and follow our positive case protocol detailed on concordiacollege.edu/COVID.
  • Since masks are required for close contacts and positive cases, you should use ‘grab and go’ food options. That information is also on the COVID website.

This change also means that if you have been exposed to COVID before the first day of classes, you will not have to delay your arrival.

If you test positive for COVID, you still need to isolate for five full days before returning to classes or campus activities/work.

As a reminder, we will be offering a vaccine/booster clinic in Knutson on August 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can register on our COVID website. Walk-ins are also welcome. We continue to require being up to date with your vaccination as it is one of the best tools to prevent serious illness and control spread. We highly encourage you to take advantage of this free clinic.

Thank you,

COVID Response Group
