Dear Faculty and Staff,

We wanted to send a reminder regarding COVID mitigation plans for the upcoming semester. The college is following the Minnesota Department of Health and the CDC’s recommendations for vaccinations being one of the most effective tools for preventing serious illness and death.

  • Students will be required to be up to date with their vaccination status. An email has been sent to students with a reminder of this requirement along with deadlines for submitting vaccine/booster shot information. Students are able to apply for a vaccine exemption.
  • A decision will be made by July 15 on whether students will be required to test before returning to campus.
  • Employees are encouraged to bring their vaccination status up to date if they have not yet done so.
    • Employees and students who are current on their COVID vaccines will not have to quarantine due to exposure if they are asymptomatic. Those not up to date must isolate until a negative test and quarantine a full 10 days, even if they are an asymptomatic close contact.
  • Employees who have symptoms, are a close contact, or have tested positive will now report to the COVID Helpline instead of Human Resources. You can call 701.730.8304 or email COVID19Helpline@cord.edu.

The COVID Response Group continues to monitor cases as well as reports from MDH. According to MDH officials, there has been an increase in cases, however, hospitalization rates and severity remain low. If necessary, the college may change its Fall 2022 mitigation plans in consultation with MDH. Any changes will be communicated to the entire campus.

Thank you,

COVID Response Group
