Dear Concordia Students, Faculty, and Staff,

We are pleased to announce our vaccination rate for students is now at 87 percent.

We thank you for getting vaccinated. We also offer our gratitude to all those who have worked tirelessly to get the College to this point.

Our high vaccination rate is what allows us to continue to offer in-person classes and events. It is what lets our athletes, performers, and students travel to showcase their talents and learn in unique settings. We can do these activities without risking our campus as a whole.

This is reason to celebrate. To let down our guard now, though, would be a mistake. We do not live in a bubble, and the surrounding region is being hit hard by the Delta variant. We still need more people to be vaccinated. As laid out in President Craft’s recent message to students on the requirement, vaccination is a safe and effective way to prevent severe illness and hospitalization. In addition, it helps protect those among us who cannot be vaccinated.

We understand hesitancy about getting a COVID vaccine. The Minnesota Department of Health has a number of reputable resources that may address your concerns.

As a reminder, you can find information about campus on the COVID website. Questions can be directed to COVID19Helpline@cord.edu and askcord@cord.edu
