Dec. 17: MN Executive Order, Wellness Day and Communication Update for Employees
Today’s message will focus on the Minnesota governor’s executive order, Wellness Day and communication changes for spring semester.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced changes to his most recent executive order that was set to expire this week. With modifications, the order is extended through Jan. 10.
The information from the order that most directly connects to the college are the travel restrictions from the Minnesota Department of Health which recommends people who leave Minnesota quarantine for 14 days upon their return. (Exceptions below.) As indicated previously, this is how Concordia states that recommendation to employees:
It is recommended that Minnesotans refrain from unnecessary out-of-state travel. The Minnesota Department of Health states that when MN residents travel for reasons other than for work, study, medical care, or personal safety and security, they are strongly encouraged to self-quarantine for 14 days should they travel outside of MN. When you need to self-quarantine to comply with the MN Governor’s orders, please work with your supervisor to establish an alternative work arrangement(s), take PTO, take unpaid time off if there is no PTO available or a blend of these options.
For the health and safety of our community we ask our employees who are residents of North Dakota to also plan for a self-quarantine after travel outside of North Dakota for reasons other than work, study, medical care, or personal safety and security. When self-quarantine is appropriate please work with your supervisor to identify alternative work arrangement(s), take PTO, take unpaid time off if there is no PTO available or a blend of these options.
Wellness Day Spring Semester
Based on approval from Faculty Senate at their December 15 meeting, all classes meeting on Friday, February 5, 2021, will be reconvened for a day focused on promoting wellness. Members of the Concordia community are invited to attend and support this day.
Communication in Spring Semester
Throughout the spring semester it is our intent to send e-mail communication regarding COVID-19 and the college once per week on Tuesdays. The college will also communicate in other manners throughout the semester to keep you up to date. Remember specific questions can always be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
