Feb. 16: Note of Thanks and Next Steps
Today we offer a word of gratitude to everyone who completed their COVID-19 test as we returned for second semester. We understand that every mitigation tactic we use places extra stress on the campus. Though necessary, we want to acknowledge that it was an extra step for each person who completed their test and we appreciate those efforts.
At this time we aren’t planning for another mass testing event unless circumstances, such as case counts either on campus or locally, indicate that need. Other testing options might include requiring testing for certain groups on campus or recommending testing in proximity to breaks. Again, we will communicate about these tests if they are needed.
Also, as a reminder, The Minnesota Department of Health is recommending students ages 12-25 consider getting tested regularly for COVID-19 even if they are asymptomatic. With more testing available and more students engaged in in-person learning, the state health department recommends this age group consider getting tested periodically. Free testing is available through the VAULT saliva testing site by appointment or walk-up. Please check their website for updated hours.
