Feb. 2: Masks and Testing
Today’s message is information about masks and an update on periodic testing.
Masks: Last fall, because of compliance issues in ISC and a rising positivity rate in the community, more stringent mask requirements were put in place which included wearing masks in study rooms even when a person was alone. That rule is now being lifted and you may take off your mask in fully enclosed designated study spaces if you are alone. If positivity rates begin to rise or compliance issues continue, this may once again be reversed.
Testing: Minnesota Department of Health is now recommending students ages 12-25 consider getting tested regularly for COVID-19 even if they are asymptomatic. With more testing available and more students engaged in in-person learning, the state health department recommends this age group consider getting tested periodically. Free testing is available through the VAULT saliva testing site by appointment or walk-up, please note that their hours have changed.
