Concordia’s bike share is located between Knutson Campus Center and Ylvisaker Library. The dedicated Bike Shelter was built by Facilities Management and holds the 12 specially painted bicycles. A fix-it station is attached to the shelter for free tune-ups for any bike. Concordia’s bike share is a collaboration among Student Government Association, Ylvisaker Library, and the sustainability coordinator.
Checking out a bike
To check out a bike, go to the Circulation Desk in Yvisaker Library. The first time you check out a bike, you’ll be asked to read and sign a liability waiver (you only need to do this once). Then you’ll be given a key for the bike lock and a helmet (you can use your own if you want). Go outside, find the numbered bike on the bike share rack, and you’re off!
Returning the bike
When you’re finished, return the bike to the rack and lock it. Bring the key back to the circulation desk. If you encountered any problem with the bike, be sure to tell the circulation desk staff about it. Be sure to lock the bike! If the bike turns out to be missing, you’ll be assessed a fine equal to the replacement cost of the bike. Same goes for helmets and bike locks.
Bikes can be checked out for 4 hours. If the bike is due back after the library has closed, the key must be returned during the first hour that the library is open on the following day.
