Student Environmental Alliance
The leading student organization working for sustainability is the Student Environmental Alliance. SEA has undertaken many projects and played critical roles in the development of sustainability initiatives on campus, championing moving to a trayless dining service, Concordia’s organic student-run garden, Concordia’s BikeShare, the EcoHouse, and expansion of recycling. SEA also plans many fun events and educational demonstrations, and hold the annual winter camp-out by the bell tower.
Eco-Reps live and work in the dorms, inviting all students to practice more sustainable ways of living and serving a resources for students. They work closely with Hall Councils, as well as with Residence Life staff and the Sustainability Coordinator.
High Impact Leadership Trips
Passionate students have the opportunity to organize a High-Impact Leadership Trip (HILT) focused on sustainability leadership. These are student-developed alternative spring break trips. Past trips have gone to Kentucky, Oregon, Florida, Washington DC, and California.
