A new program has been created for women planning to enroll and study in the Offutt School of Business at Concordia College. The Offutt School Women in Business Cohort will welcome up to 20 specially designated female students entering Concordia in Fall 2022. This group will meet regularly to learn about the ongoing challenges and emerging opportunities that women experience in the modern American workplace.

Benefits of the Program:

  • Members of the cohort will be provided individual female mentors who are Concordia grads or friends of the Offutt School of Business. These women mentors come from work and leadership roles in a variety of professional sectors.
  • The cohort will be invited to attend special guest lectures and training programs on campus. Members of the cohort will also be provided opportunities to learn about their own personality types and leadership strengths through personal strength inventories, surveys, and exploration exercises.
  • Each member of the cohort will have close guidance in selecting and experiencing a Pivotal Experience in Applied Knowledge (PEAK) learning opportunity. This PEAK experience can be a professional internship, research opportunity, or volunteer project that develops the student’s skills and experience. These experiences and skills will assist cohort members in applying for their first jobs and career opportunities upon graduation.

How to Join

To be eligible to apply, you must be admitted to the college. Submit your application along with a short essay answering the question, "What ongoing challenges and emerging opportunities do you see for women working in business today?"
