Concordia People Accounting is an organization of students interested in the accounting profession. The club travels to public accounting firms and has several firms visit the campus for networking and job opportunities. The club also participates in an annual trip to the Minneapolis Accounting and Auditing Conference during the fall. The conference gives students the opportunity to network with firms and also learn more about the accounting perspective from current CPA's. Students in leadership positions run the organization and others participate by attending the firms' campus visits and going on the trip to Minneapolis. Being involved in CPA is a great way to meet others in the accounting major and network with future potential employers.
The president Ryan Heisler, vice president Jacob Schmidt, and treasurer Carly Samuelson have been a dedicated member of the accounting club since sophomore year. They have seen success first hand at the career fairs with internship and job interviews. We want to create an environment that allows for accounting majors to explore the profession.
