Our healthcare management program provides a specialized base of knowledge for managing a variety of healthcare facilities including hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities. The program consists of a combination of classroom study, as well as an internship experience in a healthcare facility during the student’s final two years of college, normally during the summer months.
Students who want exposure to the healthcare management program without the internship experience should complete the healthcare administration concentration. Students seeking to move directly into management positions in the healthcare field are strongly encouraged to complete one of the three certificate programs, which require a 12-week (480-hour) internship.
Students must have an application approved by the program directors in order to complete an internship, and must maintain at least an overall GPA of 2.75 in order to undertake the internship. Students cannot combine the healthcare administration concentration with any certificate program.
