Communication Studies | Major or minor
All students majoring in communication studies are strongly encouraged to select one or more emphases to focus their studies. Many emphases are available and can be tailored to meet your individual needs. Some of the most common emphases that students select are applied media, cultural communication, communication methods, film, gender communication, multimedia journalism, organizational communication, public relations, relational communication, rhetorical studies and social media. Many other options are possible.
Communication Studies and Theatre Art | Major or minor
Individualize your study by creating unique curriculum made up of communication and theatre courses. You could also pursue a double major or major/minor combination in communication and theatre.
Theatre Art | Major or minor
Theatre art will provide you with a broad-based theatre education. This sets a foundation from which you can specialize in performance, design or history/literature.
Communication Studies Education | Major with Communication Arts/Literature
This major prepares you to teach communication arts/literature to students in grades 5-12.
Film Studies | Minor
Your foundation courses will be taught by the CSTA department, but the rest of the minor is made up of film classes in departments around campus.
Multimedia Journalism | Major
Prepare yourself for any job in journalism with this interdisciplinary major combining studies in communication studies, English and art.
