Global Studies and French Major
I would have never had the courage to move across the world if I hadn't studied in Tanzania during my junior year. Concordia inspired a lifelong interest in exploring the world and my dedication to working for social justice. I am also grateful for how my Concordia professors always pushed me to become a stronger, more persuasive writer.

Global Studies and German Major; Business Minor
The German department showed a lot of passion in teaching and helped guide me throughout my academic career by challenging me in language courses, which made it possible for me to live and work in Europe after graduating.

Scandinavian Studies Major; History Minor
I come from a Scandinavian community and Norwegian heritage, and I have always been interested in Scandinavian culture. Concordia has deeply rooted Scandinavian heritage as well, being a Norwegian Lutheran private school, and it promotes work and study abroad opportunities in Scandinavian countries. I was able to use my experiences from Concordia and the Scandinavian studies program to find a job in Norway within six months of graduation. I am using the global perspectives I gained at Concordia to live and work in Europe, which is amazing!

Communication–Public Relations and Spanish Major
Through my studies in the Spanish program, I learned to view situations, settings and norms through an intercultural lens. The department and curriculum were challenging yet supportive, key components that led me to pursue a Spanish major. To this day, going on a May Seminar to South America was one of the most rewarding, humbling and life-changing experiences I’ve ever had, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the opportunities offered at Concordia or the classes I took to prepare me for the adventure.
