The award is designed to help defray the cost of undertaking the project, including travel, supplies, and other materials necessary to conduct the project. It is not intended as salary for the student, nor will it cover the costs associated with presentation of scholarly work.
Deadline: For the 2017 - 2018 academic year, deadlines will be September 29 and January 26; applications will be reviewed within three weeks of submission.
Funding limit: Up to $500 may be awarded for a project involving one student and up to $800 for a project involving two or more students. We anticipate funding 2-4 awards each funding cycle.
Faculty mentorship: All projects must have a faculty mentor involved with the execution and supervision of the project. The role of the mentor will vary depending on the nature of the project.
Dissemination of work: All funded projects are expected to be publicly disseminated at the April Celebration of Student Scholarship (COSS) following the research. If this will not be possible, please consult Dr Krys Strand (firstname.lastname@example.org) about other dissemination options. Application materials for funded projects may be shared with the Office of Communications.
