Major: Social Studies Education

What is your dream job after college and how do you want to make an impact?

After college, I would love to teach social studies, but I am not sure at what level. Ideally, I would be a middle school teacher first and then move up to high school. I want to be a teacher to inspire students to fall in love with learning as well as being able to support them in the variety of activities that they are involved in. Concordia has taught me that teaching reaches far beyond just the content and how big of an impact we really do have on students.

What year are you here at Concordia?

I am a junior expecting to graduate in spring 2023.

What are you involved in on campus? What kind of work do you want to be known for?

I am involved as a student ambassador on campus and I hope to be known for being a dependable, dedicated student.

What is your favorite Cobber tradition and why? What stories do you have to share about that tradition?

My favorite Cobber tradition is Homecoming, along with the dance that weekend. It is so awesome to see everyone brought together to celebrate the college and to participate in all the fun events as well.

Tell us your favorite stop on tour and why it’s your favorite. Why do you connect with the space?

My favorite stop on tour is the Knutson Campus Center. I like this space because it is the hub of student life on campus and I spend a lot of my time in the space, whether it is eating, studying, or hanging out with friends between classes. I think it is a great space for students to get a real feel for life at Concordia.

Words of wisdom for prospective students?

Starting college can be scary, but everyone is in the same boat. Put yourself out there and you’ll be amazed at the opportunities that come your way.

Why did you choose Concordia? Was there a defining moment in your college search process?

I transferred to Concordia my sophomore year and it was the best decision I could have made. The smaller, more welcoming feel of the college made me realize that this was the place I wanted to be. I felt super supported in my decision to transfer and the college seemed like they genuinely valued me going here.
