Bree has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead. Bree went on to receive a Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University and worked as a staff attorney for the Second District Ohio Court of Appeals in Dayton, where she was recognized for her contribution to Ohio’s jurisprudence. While working as an attorney, Bree launched her career in higher education by teaching legal courses at the local college.

Bree spent over a decade as a faculty, chair, and dean in higher education before leaving for the private sector as president of the Entrepreneurial Learning Initiative (ELI), a global entrepreneurship education company focused on entrepreneurial mindset curriculum, training, and consulting. In this role, Bree worked with higher education clients around the world to implement entrepreneurial mindset training and curriculum. In addition, she worked with organizations on talent development in order to cultivate an entrepreneurial workforce. Under her leadership, ELI secured meaningful partnerships with government entities, national and international associations and foundations, and nonprofit organizations.

Bree has served in nonprofit board leadership roles as the founding board member of uCodeGirl, board chair for the Center for Nonprofit Excellence, and a board member for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). She currently serves on M|State President’s Community Advisory Council, the Resilient Moorhead Task Force, and Launch Minnesota’s Higher Education Group. After living away from the region for nearly twenty years and returning to the area in 2018, Bree is thrilled to see how entrepreneurial the region has become and enjoys contributing to an already thriving community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her teenage daughter and life partner, Joe Raso, CEO of the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation.
