Dr. Faith Wambura Ngunjiri’s research focuses on two broad areas: spirituality/faith at work and women & leadership. Under spirituality at work, she studies how leaders integrate their faith into their leadership practice, and how organizations engage in religiously and culturally religious employees through use of workplace chaplains. The Women and Leadership Affinity Group of the International Leadership Association recently recognized her research on women and leadership with the Outstanding Scholarship Award. Her work is published in books, scholarly and practitioner journals, and conference proceedings, and she has been an invited speaker in universities and at various national and international events.

Dr. Ngunjiri’s teaching career spans most of the educational journey, from second grade to the doctoral level, finding deep satisfaction in facilitating student learning and serving as a role model. She enjoys watching students figure things out for themselves with the tools that she provides, experience “aha! moments” as they realize that we can learn about ethics and leadership not only from textbooks and case studies but also from TV shows like “The Office” or movies like the “Harry Potter” series. She believes that we all have the opportunity to be leaders and followers; thus, we all need to learn about both leading and following in order to grow as individuals and to impact organizations and the communities we live in.
