American politics: organized interests and lobbying, think tanks, clean elections research, presidential politics, public policy, political parties
Dr. Mike Bath is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Political Science at Concordia College. He joined the faculty at Concordia in 1996, after completing his graduate studies at the University of Kansas. With interests in American politics and public policy, Dr. Bath’s teaching covers a range of topics in American political institutions and behavior. He also periodically leads a public policy May Seminar abroad, along with his spouse and colleague Dr. Jennifer Bath. Dr. Bath has served as Chair of the Department of Political Science since 2004.
Dr. Bath’s recent research projects include a book chapter on U.S. vaccine policy, as well as various academic papers on cheating practices among college students and the efficacy of clean elections reforms.
In his spare time, Dr. Bath is a loyal follower of the Nebraska football and Kansas Jayhawk basketball programs. The bulk of his time, however, is spent watching his two children (Clare and Patrick) compete in a variety of team sports activities.
