Creative writing; Intertextual/mixed-genre writing; Contemporary poetry; Modern British, Postcolonial and World literatures

Recent Projects and Achievements:

Professor Snyder has published poems, short fiction, and essays in over two hundred literary journals and magazines, nationally and internationally, including Atlanta Review, Poet Lore, Folio, Cottonwood, and Southern Humanities Review. He was the co-winner of the 2001 Grolier Poetry Prize, and he was the winner of the 2002 Kinloch Rivers Chapbook competition; The CONSEQUENCE Prize in Poetry, 2013; and the 2015 Claire Keyes Poetry Prize. In 2004, he was awarded a ND Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship for literature.    

Snyder has led Study Abroad programs to Malta, Tanzania (7), and India (2), among others. Except for 2012, he has led Rwanda: Service in the Heart of Africa—a program he developed—since 2009.
