Dear New Cobber,
Welcome to campus! My name is Madi Wilts, and I am the Orientation Chair for this year. I am a Vocal Music Education major at Concordia, and besides Orientation I am also involved in the Concordia Chapel Choir, the theatre department, Habitat for Humanity, and ACDA. I enjoy singing, dancing, listening to music, attending any type of Minnesota sports event, and building relationships with people. I began my involvement in Orientation as an Orientation Assistant my sophomore year, because I saw it as an opportunity to help create a welcoming for all incoming students and a way to spread some Cobber pride.
Now as the Orientation Chair, I am able to support the first-year students by selecting a fun, thoughtful and authentic group of students to be Orientation Leaders, Orientation Assistants, and FYT Leaders, as well as crafting an Orientation Week experience that fosters the welcoming environment first-year students deserve. My piece of advice for first-year students is don’t be afraid to talk to new people. Everyone is looking to make new friends so be brave and you won’t regret it. I am so excited to welcome you to the campus, and I look forward to getting to know YOU!
