Established on 08.25.1995 by the Estate of Mr. Albert Braaten
Mr. Albert Braaten was a 1924 graduate of Concordia College with majors in mathematics and physics. Before his retirement in 1975, he was self employed, doing business at Braaten Television Sales and Service.
The Braaten family has a long relationship with Concordia College. The Reverend S.O. Braaten, Albert's father, was a member of the Concordia College Board of Regents from 1896 to 1920. He was an important force in the early years of the college. Carrie Braaten, Albert's sister, was the librarian from 1924 to 1937. Several generations of Braatens are counted among Concordia alumni.
The Rev. S. O. Braaten Family Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic achievement.
