Established on 07.06.2012 by the Estate of Dorothy A. Gustafson

In their nearly 60 years of marriage, parted only by Mr. Gustafson's death, in 2006, Wayne and Dorothy Gustafson set an extraordinary example of "how it's done," with their hospitality and their kindnesses shown to family and guests, as, with great style, they, driven by Wayne's agricultural business interest, lived in 11 different places, in widely diverse locations, in the USA and Mexico.

Having established a web of relationships with many close friends of Concordia College, over the years, and deeply impressed with Concordia's world class music programs, including its Concordia Orchestra, whose founding conductor, for its first 30 years, was their dear friend, Dr. J. Robert Hanson, Wayne and Dorothy decided to endow a scholarship for Concordia music students.

The Wayne F. and Dorothy A. Gustafson Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to one or more students who have excelled in music and who are actively involved in Concordia college's Music Department. Selection is based on scholastic achievement.
