With a degree from Concordia in economics and political science, Jim began a long career with Hormel Foods Corporation, headquartered in Austin, Minn. After holding several managerial positions throughout the Hormel organization, Jim retired in 2005 as a senior vice president. Mickey found fulfillment in teaching, community volunteering and her years serving on the city council in Austin. Beyond their degrees, Jim and Mickey are grateful to Concordia for enduring friendships, reinforced values, and indeed, for each other. Embracing their memories and their gratitude, the Jorgensons are pleased to support Concordia College and its mission.
The James ’66 and Michelle ’65 Jorgenson Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid. Selection is based on financial need for students majoring in business.
