Established on 11.21.2003 by Dr. Lori Kemmet '85
Dr. Lori Kemmet was born in Jamestown, ND, and grew up in Wadena, MN. She graduated from Concordia in 1985 with a B.A. in biology/chemistry and received her DDS in 1989 from the University of Minnesota Dental School. She is currently practicing dentistry in Boulder, CO, at Incredible Smiles, which she has owned for 28 years. She was a dentist in the U.S. Air Force from 1989-92.
Lori was an instructor at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies for 17 years. She received a Las Vegas Institute Mastership Award in January 2004 and was recognized as one of the Top 10 Aesthetic Dentists in the nation in June 2002 by the Las Vegas Institute.
Her husband, Jeffrey Baily manages Bailey Property Management and owns Yoga Loft yoga studio which was named Best Yoga Studio in Boulder, CO, over five consecutive years. Lori and Jeff have a daughter Georgia, who attended Concordia College.
It is out of the deep love for Concordia and passion for encouraging/mentoring the future generation of Cobber dentists that she created this endowed scholarship.
The Dr. Lori Kemmet Pre-Dental Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to the most outstanding junior biology student who plans to attend dental school upon the nomination of the dental school advisor and/or the biology department. The award will be made at the end of the junior year for the following academic year. Selection will also be based on financial need and scholastic achievement.
