Sylvia Lorvig Olson graduated from Concordia College in 1948, majoring in home economics. Her husband, Wallace, was a businessman from Thief River Falls. Wallace served in the United State Army during World War II. Wally was employed as an accountant for several businesses prior to being employed with Lutheran Hospitals and Homes. Wallace and Sylvia owned and operated a dry cleaning business in Rapid City, South Dakota.
The Wallace K. and Sylvia Lorvig Olson Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid. Selection is based on scholastic achievement and financial need.
