Established on 12.08.2007 by LaVern and Lois Austin Nornes
Following their Concordia education, LaVern ’54 and Lois ’56 Nornes began a lifetime of service to education, church, and community. LaVern was a high school biology teacher, a driver’s education instructor, and a high school hockey coach. Lois, a retired public school music teacher, was also director of music and senior choir director at their church, Transfiguration Lutheran.
The LaVern and Lois Austin Nornes Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to juniors or seniors who are majoring in biology education or music education. Selection is based on financial need and scholastic achievement.
