Summer Research Abroad programs enable students to do individual and independent research with scholars and institutions abroad. These programs are offered on an intermittent basis, depending on faculty research interests and opportunity.
Archaeology Field School in Italy
This amazing field school opportunity is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the principles of archaeological excavation, practical laboratory experience, data analysis, research design, and socio-political history of ancient Italy. Participants will receive training in excavation techniques, survey methods, site mapping using Geographic Information Systems, and will take part in recording and conserving artifacts discovered during excavation. The field school also includes optional weekly excursions to nearby Etruscan, Roman, and medieval archaeological sites, and major museums at Florence, Fiesole, Pisa, and Arezzo.
Science & Engineering Research Programs
Germany as consistently been a leader in innovation. Spend 10-12 weeks during the summer at Leibniz University or Clausthal Technical University while doing research in your field. Placement, site visits, and research are conducted in English.
