Music relieves stress for Leah Benthin ’17, a nursing major from Plymouth, Minn.
“It takes my mind off other things and lets me concentrate on expressing the music. I have lots of positive memories from playing music – it calms me down,” says Benthin, who plays oboe and English horn in The Concordia Orchestra.

As the campus community prepares to ring in the holiday season, students and faculty in the choirs and orchestra are gearing up for the 88th annual Concordia Christmas Concerts.
The theme for this year’s Christmas Concert is “Arise, Shine, for Your Light Has Come.” Two choral conductors are the concert’s co-artistic directors.

This week marks the beginning of The Concordia Orchestra’s two-week international tour to the Holy Land.

Hunter Huff Towle '17 was named concertmaster of The Concordia Orchestra his freshman year. Not even a broken string on his violin has kept him from his leadership responsibilities.
