Four Cobber alumni recently had a once-in-a-lifetime experience: the opportunity to sing onstage with the Rolling Stones.
Josh LaGrave '11, Jennifer Bevington '12, Becca Bellman '12 and Stephen Kemp '11 are members of the Minneapolis-based ensemble VocalEssence.
The choral music ensemble performed June 3 in Minneapolis with the Rolling Stones as a part of the legendary group's 15-city North American ZIP CODE tour. The group performed "You Can't Always Get What You Want" with the Stones.
VocalEssence was founded in 1969. The group is made up of local Minneapolis residents and has received more Chorus America awards than any other ensemble in the nation.
Bevington, who sang in The Concordia Choir for three years and participated in many other musical activities, says the experience was "incredible and surreal." One of her favorite parts of the concert was sharing it with three of her Cobber friends.
"I don't think any of us could have ever dreamed that we'd someday sing together for the Rolling Stones," she says.
