CONCORDIA CHAPEL CHOIR TO PERFORM HOME CONCERT
The Concordia Chapel Choir will present a Home Concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 19, in the Centrum, Knutson Campus Center.
A blend of more than 90 voices creates the sound of the Concordia Chapel Choir. Originally created to enrich the music of Concordia’s morning chapel services, the ensemble now performs in concert and tours annually. The choir of men and women in their sophomore, junior or senior years is an integral part of the much-loved annual Concordia Christmas Concerts.
The Chapel Choir is under the direction of Michael Culloton, a 1998 Concordia graduate. Prior to coming to Concordia, Culloton was the artistic director of the Choral Arts Ensemble and Honors Choirs, two community organizations based in Rochester, Minn., choral director at Winona Senior High School and assistant conductor of the National Lutheran Choir. Culloton is also the conductor of the Fargo-Moorhead Choral Artists and the Trinity Lutheran Church Cathedral Choir.
In April 2017, along with other Concordia choral ensembles and Concordia's orchestra, they will premiere Dr. René Clausen's new oratorio-length composition "The Passion of Jesus Christ."
Concordia College is a four-year liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America offering more than 50 majors, including 15 honors majors and 12 preprofessional programs.
