Alumna Named Counselor of the Year in Minnesota

Cobber Connections: Minnesota School Counselors Association announces Concordia graduate earns award.

Cheryl (Berg) Bormann ’04, an iQ Minnesota Academy counselor, has been selected as the 2019 MSCA (Minnesota School Counselors Association) Multi-Level School Counselor of the Year Award.

Bormann was nominated by iQ’s assistant principal, Ryan Johnson. iQ Academy is an online school for grades K-12. The school is a program of Independent School District No. 544 in Fergus Falls, Minn., that helps students become independent, self-motivated learners.

After graduation from Concordia, Bormann received her Master of Arts in community mental health and Master of Arts in school counseling in 2010 at Lakeland University in Sheboygan, Wis.
