Considered to be one of the best football facilities in the Upper Midwest by players and fans alike, Jake Christiansen Stadium was completed in 1966. A group of Fargo-Moorhead business leaders raised the funds for construction, stipulating that it be named in honor of legendary coach Jake Christiansen, who guided Cobber football teams for 28 years, winning one national championship and enduring only one losing season. “The Jake” has seating for 7,000 fans.
The stadium also features an eight-lane, premium all-weather Mondo track for track and field events. For track and field competitions, a new wireless timing system was installed at the stadium.
In 2014, construction on new locker rooms for the football and women’s soccer teams was completed. This construction, along with enhancements to the soccer field, completed the second phase of the plan to “Update the Jake.” All-weather, paved parking spots were also installed between the football and baseball facilities.
