Interested in becoming a member of the Orientation Committee, an Orientation Assistant, Orientation Leader or FYT Leader? Learn more about the various roles and responsibilities of the Orientation Team below.
Orientation Leaders have a great deal of interaction with new students during Fall Orientation. Each Orientation group has a pair of Orientation Leaders who serve as guides throughout the first few days at Concordia. This peer mentoring connection is important throughout the first year.
The Orientation Committee is comprised of seven students and an advisor. The committee coordinates the various events and activities during Orientation. Committee members are selected in October and work throughout the academic year to prepare for Fall Orientation.
Orientation Assistants are critical to the successful implementation of Orientation events and plans. Orientation Assistants provide information to new students and their families, manage social media during Orientation Week, organize fun and creative contests and work to establish a helpful and welcoming environment to new students during Fall Orientation.
FYT (First-Year Transition) Leaders are OLs who go on to facilitate pre-determined lab topics in an ongoing Orientation experience throughout first semester. To be a FYT Leader, you must also apply and be selected to be an Orientation Leader.
