Jessica Chipman joined Concordia College as visiting assistant professor of theatre in 2025.

A director and playwright, she has been recognized by Actors Theatre of Louisville (Heideman Award Finalist), Concord Theatricals (pilot production of “Tuck Everlasting”), Austin Film Festival (Playwriting Award Second-Rounder), Henley Rose Playwriting Competition (Finalist), Garry Marshall New Works Festival (Semifinalist), Wells Fargo Spotlight on the Arts (Award of Excellence), and NFHS (Outstanding Theatre Educator). 

Her work and scholarship include a focus on theatre education and pedagogy, intimacy direction, new play development, and inclusive, consent-based approaches to performance and rehearsal. 

She is a member of Playwrights’ Center and New Play Exchange and serves on the Board of Governors for the Communication and Theater Association of Minnesota. Her plays “Icarus” and “Pandora and the Sickle Moon” are published by Eldridge Plays and Musicals, and “Neighborhood Sampling” is published by Next Stage Press.
