Services

Our office works with students to make all aspects of the college accessible. We primarily work with students who have disabilities and/or chronic health conditions to determine reasonable accommodations that provide equal access both inside and outside the classroom. Please use this website to explore what we do and the different resources we have available. We look forward to working with you.

We can:

  • Provide individual consultation regarding the possible presence of a disability, making referrals when appropriate.
  • Determine eligibility for accommodations and services, explain how to access services, and provide assistance when arranging accommodations.
  • Consult with students, faculty, and staff to implement appropriate accommodations.

We serve students with a wide variety of disabilities including:

  • Learning Disabilities
  • Psychological Diagnosis
  • Chronic Health Conditions
  • Physical/Mobility
  • Temporary medical disability (e.g., concussion, surgery, etc.)

Academic Accommodations

If it is determined that a prospective or current student is eligible to receive services, appropriate classroom accommodations will be determined by the disability services coordinator in consultation with instructors and appropriate campus personnel, as needed.

To receive services, you must be a registered student at Concordia College and have a disability recognized under the Americans With Disabilities Act. Verification of a disability must be provided prior to receiving services (please refer to our Documentation Guidelines page for more information). To initiate disability services, the student must make an appointment with the disability services coordinator.

Certain accommodations may require some advanced preparation/notice to ensure timely implementation. Ideally, students should schedule a meeting 2-3 weeks in advance of the semester start date.
