Dr. Pamela M. Jolicoeur served as Concordia's 10th President from 2004 until her death on June 9, 2010. She was a scholar who served as teacher, administrator, and leader at both the national and international level during her 38 year career in Lutheran Higher Education.

Deeply committed to Concordia's mission, President Jolicoeur worked tirelessly toward helping the college distinguish itself as an innovative leader in higher education that creates transformative experiences for undergraduates. She emphasized strategic thinking, collegiality, and empowering others to excel beyond their expectations.

In the words of President Emeritus Paul Dovre, President Jolicoeur's leadership was

- not about having all the right answers but asking the right questions

- not about an exclusive cadre of leaders but about engaged commons

- not about scarcity but about abundance

- not about hierarchy but about community

- not about uniformity but about diversity
