Severt and Mary Kvamme love Concordia College. Why? They believe in Concordia's mission "to influence the affairs of the world by sending into society thoughtful and informed men and women dedicated to the Christian life." Every time they visit campus, they are inspired by its people—students, faculty, and staff. So they decided to establish a scholarship that will assist students with similar academic interests to their own.

Both Severt and Mary were educators. Severt taught high school mathematics and Mary taught high school physical education, and they both appreciated their college experience at Lutheran schools. Their hope is that the recipients of the Severt L. and Mary E. Kvamme Family Endowed Scholarship will enjoy Concordia and find that it provides a positive, formative, four years.

Severt attended Concordia because he was encouraged to do so by his Larimore, ND, pastor back in 1957. He has never regretted his choice. He made friendships that he values and was successful as a teacher in the Denver, CO, metro area.  Severt and Mary have lived in Colorado for more than 50 years. They have two, married, adult children, Annette and Eric, and two grandchildren who also live in Colorado. They enjoy visiting the Moorhead/Fargo area but will always be Coloradans at heart.

The Severt L. and Mary E. Kvamme Family Endowed Scholarship is awarded by the Office of Financial Aid to students of any class who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, with preference given for students majoring or minoring in mathematics, health and physical education, or minoring in coaching.  Selection is also based upon financial need.
